IND vs BAN T20 WC 2024 Super-8: The strong contender for the title, Team India, performed brilliantly in the first match of the Super Eight stage against Afghanistan.
Team India Playing 11 vs BAN T20 WC 2024: Riding on the Ashwamedhi chariot of victory, the Indian team will take on Bangladesh in the Super Eight stage match of the T20 World Cup on Saturday with the hope of their star batsmen returning to form as the opponent cannot be taken lightly at all considering his past record. India has the upper hand in the record of both the teams against each other but Bangladesh is adept at making upsets and Team India is well aware of this. The Indian team, a strong contender for the title, performed brilliantly in the first match of the Super Eight stage against Afghanistan. There is not much of a gap between the remaining two matches, so Captain Rohit Sharma hopes that his star players will return to form.
Virat Kohli and Rohit made a good start but have not been able to play a big innings yet. Left-handed batsman Shivam Dubey was kept in the team to hit sixes in the middle and death overs but he has not lived up to the expectations so far. The form due to which he was given a place in the Indian team in the IPL has not been seen yet. He scored an unbeaten 31 runs in the group match against America but Suryakumar Yadav’s efforts helped India win. If he fails once again, the team management may decide to bring in Sanju Samson.
It was good to see Hardik Pandya returning to batting form in the match against Afghanistan. India can field the same combination in bowling. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav got a chance for the first time against Afghanistan and he proved to be effective. After the match, Akshar Patel said, “There has been an advantage in fielding three left-arm spinners. One of them is a wrist spinner and two are finger spinners. The combination of these three has been excellent. We have a good team and our coordination is excellent. We talk among ourselves about what is working and what is not. This is very important when bowling as a unit.”
India’s only goal in West Indies is to win the title and a good performance against Bangladesh will be the next step in that direction as they face Australia on June 24. Bangladesh’s batsmen have disappointed so far and they will have to win at all costs to keep their hopes alive. They are missing power hitters in the team. The poor performance of openers Liton Das and Tanzid Khan has also increased their problems.
Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto had said after the defeat against Australia, “It is important for the top order to score runs. Hopefully, the bowlers will also return to form. Our target is to give our best performance against India.” The challenge for Bangladesh batsmen is to face Jasprit Bumrah who has been in excellent form so far and his economy rate has been 3.46.
