While veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was not selected for the next Asia Cup, superstars Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have rejoined India’s team. The Men In Blue team for the championship match in Sri Lanka was unveiled during a press conference with India captain Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar, a former Indian cricketer who now serves as the head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee.

Agarkar stated to reporters in the press conference that Team India would not have spinner Chahal, who was passed over by the selection committee for the Asia Cup. It’s interesting to note that India’s Asia Cup team is devoid of an off-break bowler. The great spinner made a remarkable tweet regarding the roster announcement after Team India decided not to bring Chahal to the championship tournament.

Yuzvendra Chahal has broken his silence on the Asia Cup defeat by sharing a spirited tweet Rohit previously sent when he was left out of India’s team for the 2018 England series. The strange post from Spinner Chahal quickly gained attention. “Yes, it’s a hard one to take. Keep at it. Sun will rise once again. We Keep Trying,” a Twitter user offered Chahal his encouragement. Another X user chimed in, “Don’t Worry Yuzi Bhaiya, the Best Is Yet To Come.”

“Kuldeep has recently surpassed Chahal”

Chief selector Agarkar spoke with the media before to the Asia Cup and discussed the exclusion of the top spinner. “Axar Patel has accomplished a lot. He can also bat. Kuldeep Yadav has had a remarkable career so far. So, something had to be missed. Chahal is now slightly behind Kuldeep, Agarkar remarked during the news conference.

For India this year, Chahal has taken three wickets in two ODIs. He did not take part in any of India’s ODI matches in the Caribbean. In nine T20Is, the 32-year-old has taken nine wickets. In India’s previous T20I game against the West Indies, Chahal claimed five wickets.

Pakistan will co-host the Asia Cup, although India will play all of its tournament matches in Sri Lanka. Team India under Rohit Sharma On September 2 in Pallekele, Rohit’s squad will play Pakistan in the Asia Cup opener.
