Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches “Meri Mati Mera Desh” Campaign to Honor Martyrs
In honor of the nation’s heroic martyrs, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign, which would run from August 9–15. As part of the program, unique inscriptions honoring the martyrs will be placed in gram panchayats all around the nation.
“To honor our great soldiers who lost their lives in battle, the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign will be introduced. Several events will be held across as part of this in honor of our invincible martyrs, Prime Minister Modi remarked on the most recent episode of the monthly radio show “Mann ki Baat,”
“Amrit Kalash Yatra” and “Amrit Vatik”
The campaign would also include, according to PM Modi, the organization of a “Amrit Kalash Yatra” in which chosen youngsters from 7,500 gram panchayats throughout India will gather at Delhi’s Kartavya Path with 7,500 urns containing soil and seedlings from all over the country.
PM Modi remarked, “Amrit Vatika will be built nearby the National War Memorial by fusing the soil and saplings that would arrive in 7500 urns,” while declaring the start of the campaign. ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ will also adopt this ‘Amrit Vatika’ as a great emblem.
“By making these efforts, we shall fulfill our obligations… We shall become aware of the many sacrifices made in order to preserve the nation’s independence and the importance of liberty. Therefore, each and every citizen must participate in these efforts, the Prime Minister remarked.
“Har Ghar Tiranga” and VasudhaVandan
Invoking the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from the previous year, Prime Minister Modi invited everyone to fly the tricolor at their homes once again on July 4. “By making these efforts, we shall fulfill our obligations. We shall come to understand the worth of freedom and the many sacrifices made for the country’s independence. Therefore, everyone in the nation must participate in these efforts, according to PM Modi.
Shailesh Kumar Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, stressed the significance of VasudhaVandan, where each Gram Panchayat/village will renew and replenish mother earth by planting 75 saplings of indigenous species. This can be done at the location of Amrit Sarovar or any other water body, or in public places like schools, gram panchayat bhawans, or any other place decided by the gram panchayat.
